Judith Coe interviewing Dunquin artist Maria Simonds-Gooding in her studio, May 2011.
Judith Coe interviewing Dingle artist Carol Cronin in her studio, May 2011.
In class this week, we will learn about the lives and work of two artists whose works have been informed by the beauty of the Blasket Islands and the Irish Sea. We'll watch my HD video interviews of these artists and begin to explore notions of place and identity and how the idea of home enters into the work of these two amazing artists and how art and living a creative life inspired by visual beauty transforms lives and personal stories.
This post will serve as a space for sharing reflections on, ideas and inquiries about, and responses to my video interviews and the works of these artists - as well as found resources while cybersleuthing, and during discussions and other research activities.
